Bacon Brothers Record With Mummers
On June 17, 2009, acclaimed acting veteran Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael, an award-winning film and TV composer, recorded a new version of their song, New Years Day. They were accompanied by Grammy nominee Bunny Sigler and more than twenty-five Mummers playing banjos, saxophones, and accordions (specially arranged by Fralinger’s Herbie Smith). All donated their time and talent as a way to help the Mummers raise money to save the parade. The special version recording will be released as a DVD soon with video of the recording session, but you can check out the song now!
